If you are new to our district, we want to make sure you have the right guidance from the very start. Please contact us before filling out any paperwork online or in person.
Email our main office at registrar@lvk12.org to let us know your family is new and would like to enroll.
Our front office team will step in and guide you through the next steps!
Prefer paper? Physical enrollment packets are available at the front office, but please call or email us first before coming to pick one up so we can get you set up in our system.

🥾⛰️ Join Us for a Community Geology Hike! ⛰️🥾
Discover the incredible science and stories hidden in the landscapes of southern Colorado during our Community Geology Hike at Lathrop State Park on Friday, July 17!
Open to La Veta students (4th grade and older), parents, staff, and community members.
📅 Friday, July 17
🕣 8:30–11:00 a.m.
📍 Lathrop State Park - Hogback Trail
🚌 Participants to be seated on the school bus by 8:20 a.m.

This special program is made possible through a grant awarded to La Veta Trails and is part of the Geoheritage of Huerfano and Las Animas Counties Initiative, a partnership between La Veta Trails and the University of Colorado Thermochronology Research and Instrumentation Laboratory (CU TRaIL). Together, they are connecting scientific research, local history, and outdoor exploration to help our community better understand and appreciate the land we call home.

PROPOSED FY27 GENERAL FUND BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the proposed General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2027 was presented to the La Veta School District RE-2 Board of Education at the regular meeting held May 26, 2026.
The proposed budget is available for public inspection on lvk12.org under Financial Transparency and is also on file at the District Front Office. Copies may be picked up Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Board of Education will consider adoption of the proposed budget at its Regular Meeting on June 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room located at 200 E. Stadium Drive, La Veta, Colorado.
In accordance with Colorado law, taxpayers of the District may inspect the proposed budget and file objections prior to final adoption of the budget.

Congratulations to this month’s CLAWS Award winners for Work Ethic: Kaia Coram and Arthur Maestas!
Kaia consistently demonstrates what dedication looks like—she works hard every day, shows up, and makes school a priority. We know Kaia’s incredible work ethic will take her soaring to new heights as she embarks on her adventures after graduation.
Arthur is an important part of our Junior High community and always arrives ready to work and give his best effort. He strives to be friends with everyone and is proud to be part of the Spartan community!
We are proud to celebrate their commitment, determination, and positive example for others. Keep up the great work, Kaia and Arthur!

Our littlest Redhawks are discovering, exploring, and learning through play each day with the care and guidance of our amazing staff. From giggles to hands-on fun, these bright young learners are growing every step of the way! 🧸✨

We are excited to invite you to the Elementary Spring Concert on May 21st!
The concert starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. in the School Gym and will run approximately 45 minutes. Please arrive no later than 5:45 p.m. and find a seat!
After you're seated, please send your student to the designated class area near the American flag to check in.
Concert attire is "classy casual," though this is encouraged rather than required—all students are welcome to participate regardless of attire.
Thank you for supporting our students and helping create lasting memories!
