Upcoming Opportunity to Learn More:

The San Luis Valley BOCES will be hosting a Colorado School Board Candidate Academy on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. This event is designed to provide valuable insights into the process of running for a local Board of Education seat and to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the essential role school board members play in Colorado. The session will be facilitated by George Welsh, Executive Director of San Luis Valley BOCES.

George brings a wealth of experience, having served as a Colorado superintendent of schools for 25 years and spending the last four years training and supporting school boards in effective governance.

5:30 PM – Food and refreshments available
6:00–7:30 PM – Academy presentation and discussion
