Teacher
Positions
Secondary
Career & Technical Education – Agra Business:
Courses offered in animal science, ag mechanics, plant
science, and natural resources. This
position also requires the successful candidate to be an enthusiastic and
competitive FFA advisor! This position
has an extended contract, with 143 student contact days and 35 additional work
days, for a total of 178 days annually.
Pay ranges from $40,475 to $52,650, depending on education and
experience.
Second Grade:
La Veta Elementary School has a 2nd grade
opening. There are 157 work days
associated, with pay ranging from $35,700 to $47,875.
Counseling
Part-Time K-12 Counselor. At
La Veta Public Schools we
believe every student is capable of learning; that the school campus must be a
safe and secure place and sustain an environment of respect and that a quality
education includes a focus on the whole student, including health, wellness and
life skills. We seek full or part-time
counseling staff who will focus
on social-emotional learning, individualized student support, and supporting an
excellent cultural environment for all students and staff. The work schedule is anticipated to be two
full days and one half day each week, with pay ranging from $25,500 to
$33,200.
Para-Professional – Classroom
Assistant Positions
Para-professionals
are paid $17.40 / hour for 8.5 hours/ day and scheduled for 157 days per
year. A full benefits package with
year-round health insurance is associated and opportunities for career
advancement are available.
Elementary SpecialEducation. Seeking personnel to support
individualized student needs at the direction and with the support of the
special education case manager.
Pre-School Education. Seeking personnel support for a full class of
three and four year-olds. Two positions
are available for the fall of 2023.
Central Office Positions
District Secretary. This position is responsible for coordination of the
central office, including reception, attendance monitoring, and information
management. The position is scheduled
for 178 days, 8.5 hours per day, compensated at a rate of $20.50 / hour.
Bookkeeper. Full-time,
year-round position scheduled for 193 days per year. Preference given to
candidates with former experience in public school fund accounting, payroll
functions, and / or human resource management. This position is scheduled for
an 8.5 hour day, compensated at $25.00 / hour.
Grants & Projects
Director. Full-time, year-round
position scheduled for 193 days per year. Preference given to candidates with
former experience in public school fund accounting, and those with successful
grant writing and management experience.
The work day is 8.5 hours and pay ranges from $46,400 to $55,165 / year,
based upon education and experience.
Support Staff Positions
Custodian. Full-time, year-round position(s) scheduled for 40
hours per week. The district is currently offering a variety of schedules,
with an annual salary of $30,160.00 and a competitive benefits package.
La Veta

Coaching
Positions
Junior
High coaching positions require attendance during the season from 2:15 – 4:15
p.m. daily, plus oversight of games.
Junior high coaches will be paid $1800 / season.

approximately 3:45 – 6:30 p.m. Head
coaches will be paid $3600 / season and assistant coaches are paid $2700.
