Colorado Succeeds Award
The 2019 Transformational Impact Award winner is La Veta High School.
This is a data-driven process conducted by an external analyst and committee of business, civic, and education leaders to determine public schools making transformational gains in academic achievement.

The College Success Award - winning La Veta Junior Senior High School received the highest rating of 10 by GreatSchools.org in 2019.

Colorado Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award
La Veta Elementary School is the recipient of The Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award in 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to the longitudinal academic growth and "meet or exceed" expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.
Healthy School Champions
La Veta Schools Cafeteria has been awarded a Healthy School Champions in both 2015 and 2018.
A fresh vegetable or fruit snack is served daily in the elementary, Food Service features scratch cooking and healthy, nutritious items.
